Our people

Our check pilot team are, first and foremost, working marine pilots with decades of piloting experience across fourteen ports in Australia and New Zealand. All our people have high-level technical and non-technical skills and are passionate about setting and maintaining high performance levels both in their own pilotage and with the pilots they assess. All our people have completed formal marine check pilot training.

Our check pilots are active in professional development activities within their own pilotage organisations and in professional associations. They regularly contribute to journals, and attend seminars and conferences. At MCPI we believe that in order to provide valid assessments, a check pilot must uphold the highest professional values and be in possession of best-practice knowledge and skills.
